Inquiry on Reporting Potential Bugs in Gurobi
AnsweredI am a university user of Gurobi, currently preparing a research project aimed at detecting potential bugs in MIP solvers through fuzzing techniques. As a researcher, I want to ensure that any issues I identify are handled appropriately, so I have the following questions:
1. If I discover potential bugs in Gurobi, what is the recommended procedure for submitting a bug report? Are there any official channels for this?
2. Once a bug report is submitted, what kind of feedback can I expect? Will the reported bugs be formally acknowledged and addressed by the development team?
3. What is the typical timeline from bug acknowledgment to the release of a fix?
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hi Xintong,
A potential bug in the Gurobi solver can be submitted via a support request in our Gurobi Help Center. In general, before reporting a bug, please
- check you are using the most recent version of Gurobi (currently v12.0.0),
- review the Knowledge Base articles in Recently Reported Issues and the Known Issues page of our reference manual , then
- create a Minimal Reproducible Example
Once reported, the issue is reviewed carefully by the Gurobi technical team. If the development team validates it as a bug, it is logged in our internal tracking system. The user is informed about the progress and possible workaround (if available) in the interim through the support request in the Help Centre.
The time to resolve a bug depends on multiple factors, including the complexity and severity of the issue and the planned road map for future Gurobi releases.
I hope this answers your questions.
Best regards,
Simran0
