I have three questions about the selection strategy in the B&B method in Gurobi.
As I understood, we cannot find out how Gurobi branches in each iteration. But, I need to control the branching strategy while I solve my problem. Briefly, I have three decision variables ( two integers and one binary), namely x,y,z, where the y variable is binary. I need to branch on variable y to see if Gurobi finds the optimal solution faster or not.
I found two attributes: BranchPriority and VarBranch. Based on their definition in the document, I have the following questions:
1. What are the fundamental differences between BranchPrioirty and VarBranch?
2. Is a simple example available that helps me to figure out how to change the attributes? ( For instance, for the variable vector (y_1, ... y_100), how can I change attributes for all y_i?)
3. Does changing the attributes mentioned above improve the effect of the B&B in practice?
