Per User Job Limit in Gurobi Cluster Manager
OngoingWe have installed the Gurobi Cluster Manager on one of our servers. A really helpful feature for us would be the possibility to limit the number of jobs that a single user can have running at the same time.
As an example say that the overall job limit is 3 and the limit per user is 1. User A submits job X, the queue is empty and A has no other jobs running, so job X is started. Then user B submits job Y, the queue is empty and B has no other jobs running, so job Y is started. Then user A submits job Z while job X and Y are still running. There are no other jobs running, so normally job Z would be started as the job limit is 3, but in this case job Z is queued because user A already has a running job and the per user limit is 1.
It could also be great if the per user limit is user specific, so it is set as a parameter when creating an account in the Cluster Manager.

Something like this would immensely help our workflow too. We have different applications using Gurobi Compute Server but some of them run with 1 or 2 threads and others run with 8 / 16 threads. We would like to be able to solve more instances of the smaller jobs but fewer instances of the larger jobs to avoid thread contention / out of memory issues. This isn't possible currently AFAIK as the job limit is set at the node level and not job/user level.

We would also love to have this feature!

Any update on this Team Gurobi?
Whether per user and - even also very useful - per application, would be also of interest for us.0 -
Hi Daniel,
Nothing has been implemented yet, but we have added you as a requester on the related item in our product backlog. This will help give it higher priority amongst the competing requests.Kind Regards,
Riley0 -
Team Gurobi I would also like to be added as requester for this feature if it helps giving it higher priority. This feature is something that would help our workflow greatly.
