Academic licenses for version 8.1 for backwards comparability

I am adding an alternative approach to my paper. The results of the existing approach have been computed with version 8.1. Therefore, I need an academic licence for version 8.1 for comparability. I cannot find a way to get one though. When I request a license I immediately receive one for version 9.
