Any way to retrieve number of nonzeroes in an LP file?

I am working with LP files. I can use the command model.runtime to return the optimization runtime once the optimization is complete, is there a similar command to return the number of nonzeros in an LP file? I can see the number of nonzeros when the LP file is read by gurobi, but I would like to be able to run a command to get this, as it makes it easier for me to collect and analyze, especially when there are large numbers of LP files to work with. Thanks.
