Hi, 

I'm getting the message on the title when trying to solve a QP with Barrier on the root node. It is my understanding that Barrier can solve QP problems. Am I wrong?

  Hi Manuel,

  Gurobi currently does not support Barrier for the solution of the QP root relaxation. The main reason is that it is more valuable to have a basic solution of the underlying LP relaxation and use it for, e.g., heuristics.

  If you would like to use Barrier for all QP relaxations, you can set the NodeMethod parameter to 2. This makes Gurobi use Barrier for the QP root node relaxation and all subsequent nodes.
