Issue with setting up Windows Token Server
AnsweredAs I am running WSL 2 I am following the post here to setup a token server on my windows machine. However when I retrieve the license key and try to start the token server I am getting the following error
Licensing daemon requires TOKEN license
Problem with Gurobi license - unable to start token server
I am a academic user, so I am just using a Named-User Academic License, since the manuals don't say otherwise. Is there anything I am doing wrong here? I have tried changing the TYPE=TOKEN manually in gurobi.lic, but that didn't work either.
Best regards,
David

Hi David,
Your named-user license, unfortunately, does not work with a token server.
For a WSL2 setup, we recommend the so-called "WLS Academic" license (WLS = Web License Service). You can generate one on your own in our User Portal.Best regards,

Hi Mario,
Thanks a lot for the response. I will try that. But that license type requires network connection at every use, I assume?

Hi David,
Yes, indeed, the WLS academic license requires a permanent internet connection since it requests a license token from our servers every 5 minutes.
