    This may not be relevant anymore, but I wanted to answer and close this question regardless.

    On macOS, you usually don't need to set the environment variables when using our installer package. If you install Gurobi into some other directory, you need to tell your OS where to find the executable and the runtime libraries. This is usually done by modifying the PATH and, on macOS, the DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH variables.
