Failed to open log file gurobi.log
Awaiting user inputMy Gurobi interface crashes when I try to open it to enter the free academic license. This indicates it does not have permission to write, but I do not know how to fix this on 64 bit Windows 11

Hi Connor,
You should try executing Gurobi as administrator. In Windows, you can right click the executable and choose "Run as administrator". If you want to run Gurobi from the command prompt, you should hit the Start button, type "command" or "cmd". You’ll see the Command Prompt icon listed as the main result. Right-click that icon and choose "Run as administrator". From this admin Command Prompt, you should be able to execute Gurobi with all permissions.

Hi Jaromil,
I tried running it as an administrator and the issue continues. The command processor opens for about 4 seconds before closing itself.

However, when I run as an administrator it does not say "Failed to open log file gurobi.log", the application just crashes.

Hi Connor,
Could you share a screenshot of how you are trying to execute Gurobi on your Windows machine? Please note that the default Gurobi icon suggested by Windows is often the Token Server executable, which does only start a Token Server, i.e., it looks like it does nothing.
Could you please try starting the Command Prompt as administrator and executing gurobi_cl from the Command Prompt, cf., Solving the model using the Gurobi command-line interface?
Best regards,
Jaromił-1
