Can't activate the free academic license

I'm a CMU graduate student. I connected my computerto the schools network via a VPN, However, when I attempt to run the "grbgetkey" command with long identification number in my anaconda terminal where I will be using Gurobi it says it's not an academic domain (ERROR 303: hostname c-73-40-252-165.hsd1.pa.comcast.net (73.40.252.165) not recognized as belonging to an academic domain). How do I reconcile this?
