gurobi_9.1-0.tgz is not available (for R version 4.0.2)

Hi,

I am a poor economist trying to get gurobi to work with R and RStudio. I am using R 4.0.2 and RStudio 1.3.1073 on Windows 10. 

I have followed the steps to install Gurobi and activate my academic license, then I tried following these instructions

https://www.gurobi.com/documentation/9.1/refman/ins_the_r_package.html

in order to install the R package. 

However, when I try to install the package I get the warning message

Warning in install.packages :
package ‘C:/gurobi910/win64/R/gurobi_9.1-0.tgz’ is not available (for R version 4.0.2)

I noticed that in the guide online the package is specifically named gurobi_9.1-0_R_4.0.2.tgz whereas in my case it is simply gurobi_9.1-0.tgz.

Do I have an old version? What should I do about it?

  The package file is named \( \texttt{gurobi_9.1-0.zip} \) on Windows (this is mentioned on the documentation page you linked). Can you try using a .zip extension instead of .tgz?

  thanks for your message. I tried but I get exactly the same warning message even with a .zip extension

  Hi Alice,

  Please check your Gurobi installation directory. There should be a file \(\texttt{C:\gurobi910\win64\R\gurobi_9.1-0.zip}\). This is what you need to enter when installing the R package.
