new apple M1 CPUs
AnsweredI was wondering if you will have native version of Gurobi on Apple's new CPUs. Generally, are these chips faster at solving MIPs than Intel and AMD chips?

Hi Joshua,
We are definitely looking at the new hardware. As these chips have just been released we also just got the hardware. So far, we don't have a native version of Gurobi for the M1 CPUs and we cannot yet say if they are faster: our benchmarks are still running.
Best,
Sonja

Hello Sonja,
Have the benchmarks been run to completion? Any news on the Apple M1 performance?
I suppose this would be Gurobi OS X Intel, run on top of Rosetta 2 first, or would Gurobi already have compiled a version on the M1? Very curious how the comparison plays out...
thanks and best regards,
Peter

Hi,
A macos_universal2 port is now available with the technical release Gurobi 9.1.2. The port provides binaries that can run on the new M1 chip. The port is still experimental, but we encourage users to try it and report any issues. You can download it from Gurobi's Downloads page.
Best regards,
Elisabeth

Hi,
I'm a mac m1 user as well.
I installed Gurobi 9.1.2, and it did say successful installation. However it doesn't appear on my mac.It seems that it didn't successfully install at all. Is there any solution to that?
thanks and best regards,
Jing

Where did you look for the Gurobi installation? Note that Gurobi 9.1.2 installs to \( \texttt{/Library/gurobi912} \), not (e.g.) \( \texttt{/Users/jing/Library/gurobi912} \).
Additionally, we always recommend using the latest version of Gurobi, which is currently Gurobi 9.5.0.
