Our goal is to provide free academic licenses to qualified students, faculty, and staff at recognized degree-granting academic institutions. This one-year license can only be used for academic purposes like coursework, teaching, and research. When the license expires, you may request that we renew it.
There are three ways for academic users in China to obtain an individual academic license:

Connect directly to the university network (fastest)
Obtain an academic license using a university computer or computer connected to a university network. Note that once you have obtained an academic WLS license through our web portal while connected to a university network, you can use it on any computer with an internet connection, even when outside the university network. -
Connect to your university network through VPN (quick – may require some configuration):
Obtain an academic license using a computer connected to the university network through a VPN that tunnels all traffic through the university network.- Note on VPN: If possible, try configuring your VPN client to use full tunneling, where all traffic is routed through the VPN. Apply for a Named-User Academic License manually (1-3 business days processing time):
Academic users in China, Hong Kong or Macau: If options 1 and 2 above do not work for you, or if you receive ERROR 303: hostname not recognized as belonging to an academic domain, please request a license by following the steps listed at our partner website. -
Apply for a WLS Academic License manually (verification of Chinese academic documents may result in longer processing time):
If options 1 and 2 above do not work for you, and your Gurobi usage requires a WLS license instead of a named-user license, please request a license by following the steps in the "Still having issues?" section of How do I resolve an "Academic Domain Error"?
Educational Institution Site licenses
This option is restricted to university IT administrators. Share Gurobi with multiple users in your academic departments, schools, and classrooms by running Gurobi on your university’s local-area network, at no cost to you or your institution.
